110%
carbon neutral
It was clear from the very beginning that we would be a completely carbon neutral company. However, full carbon neutrality is only the first step: everyone with the necessary ability should contribute to reducing their carbon footprint. Today, for every ton of CO² offset, we offset 1.1 tons of CO² emissions, and the goal is to offset all carbon emissions tenfold by 2030.
In addition to preventing climate change, our actions have other benefits: Thanks to rainforest projects in Brazil, endangered animal species have more living space, and afforestation projects in Ethiopia bring livelihoods and education to almost a thousand families.
Read more about our projects, and find out how you too can play your part in building a better future.
* One hundred kilograms of carbon dioxide means, for example, a Helsinki-Stockholm-Helsinki flight, about seven kilograms of beef, or a drive of just over five hundred kilometers in a typical gasoline car. One thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions are generated, for example, by a one-way Helsinki-Dallas flight.

01
Pontal, Brazil
The Brazilian coastal rainforest is one of the most heavily logged tropical forests in the world. The rainforest is not only a great carbon sink, it is also home to many endangered animals. This project combines both greenhouse gas reduction and animal welfare, so the project is particularly important to us.
The project is implemented by IPÊ in collaboration with the WeForest organization.
02
Seret, Ethiopia
A reforestation project that aims to restore areas where livestock are not raised. The areas have long suffered from unsustainable agriculture, logging and illegal charcoal production. Less than 1% of the original forest in the area remains.
The restoration project will create jobs for over 800 families, but will also train locals in sustainable agriculture.
The project is implemented by the WeForest organization in collaboration with local parties.

03
Travel
Although we offset all carbon emissions, this does not mean that all our operations necessarily produce carbon dioxide. We are committed to using a 100% carbon neutral train for all our corporate travel in Finland. As a thank you for our carbon neutral travel, we have a dedicated train line named after us.
In air travel, our partner is SAS, whose biofuel itself reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 80%.
Most of the cars we use are either hybrids or fully electric cars.

You too can be part of creating a better tomorrow.
It's easy: if you want to become a monthly donor, there are several different options to choose from, for example, Trillion Trees or Carbon Footprint . You can also make sustainable choices in everyday life: when traveling, choose public transport and biofuels where possible, or choose food from near where you live at the grocery store instead of food shipped from the other side of the world.
